If you live in the central part of the United States we are gearing up for “Icepocalypse” which will be followed by “Snowpocalypse”  When I left school today it was just starting to ice up (freezing rain- when the surface temperature causes the rain to freeze on contact… makes for pretty pictures, power outages, and very slick roads) I’m waiting to see if it will get bad enough to delay or cancel school tomorrow, or if it has just been built up by the news media so we “stay tuned for the latest updates” and buy French toast supplies.  For those out there, I wish you safe travels.

Not My Fault… Really.

  1. Meteorology was always an interesting subject growing up… but not much happened in the Texas Hillcountry. Freezing rain was one of those few events that did happen.

Now that I’m in the Rockies, I’ve experienced graupel, pogonip (which is deadly), and thundersnow along with regular snow. Tomorrow is supposed to get to a chilling high of negative-two.

Hope you fare warmer where you’re at.
