OK, fine, I have a problem… I admit it, for over 25 years I have been going to the same pizza place. It all started when I was working late my first year of teaching and ordered dinner from a national chain pizza place, and they could not find the school building… It’s a school on a major street- really?!? SO I looked for the “local place” and discovered Gramboli’s. Since then, Gramboli’s has been the go to place when we don’t want to cook (which is way too often) and the place where we have seen the family grow up… I remember watching the kids do their homework, kids who now have kids. Many ask us what to order- my reply is “anything.” We now come in and have the people who work there make suggestions. This week was rough so we’ve dropped by nightly. Sunday was the Indy Webcomics Group, and after that was my lack of desire to cook. Sue and I have talked about posting about various pizza places we visit on the road… maybe, some day, but Gramboli’s will always have a place in our heart because of the people, and the pizza.

30 days of Drawing… Day 13
So today was the first day back to school and things went well. Tonight was the GiG (Girl’s in Geocaching) monthly dinner, this time held at Gramboli’s Pizza. Being a geocaching event, that meant it would go long because there are a lot of friendly people and because we as a group would overwhelm the waitstaff. This means that I don’t have a lot of time for my daily drawing. As you know I regularly draw on the whiteboard at Gramboli’s so to help people know where to go for the event I drew a quick drawing of Cecil and when the event was over I drew the famous Gramboli’s dog again. Both of which not my best work, but I’m reminded that a fellow artist said over the weekend that his goal was to speed up his drawing, I think I really need to work on slowing down mine. Who knows? Maybe some day I’ll be able to take a day and work on just one drawing… nah! never happen!
30 Days of Drawing… Day 7
So about today’s drawing… For years now (20+) I’ve been a regular at Gramboli’s Pizza, our local pizza place. It all started when I was first teaching and I had ordered a pizza to be delivered to the school and 90 minutes later it still wasn’t there. When I called the national chain they said they couldn’t find the school! I decided to try the local place and have been eating there ever since. It’s about a mile or so from our house and a perfect chance to test out the road conditions. When we arrived it was pretty busy – Sue and I think everyone had the same idea to escape cabin fever. The white board used if there is a wait, tends instead to be taken up by a drawing- these have been done by me for a very long time. It started off with Cecil and now is a generic dog. I try to change him when I go in so some weeks you might see three (or four, or five) different dogs! Tonight I erased the Santa Dog and after scrambling for a dry-erase marker, drew this guy. Not my best effort, but I’ll fix it the next time I’m there.
