I must thank those folks who did help me with this… or at least gave me the confidence to try the repair.  The folks from Tennessee, Florida, and Canada who let be steal their tools.  Greg & Linda from Indiana for not laughing too loudly while I tried to figure it all out and giving me advice as to how the jack worked.  Jerry from Seattle who only chuckled softly when I said I was going to take care of this rattle and letting me know that the dust shield was more trouble than it was worth.

This is the dust shield I’m pulling it down a bit the bolt in the center of the photo is where the shield broke causing a rattle as it bounced around the brake.
