Happy Binary day!  I saw somewhere on the interwebs that this is last binary date for this century (so it must be true).  I remember first learning about binary in 4th grade during the “New Math” push in elementary school.  Learning how to add & subtract in base two & base eight was not as much fun as Tom Lehrer makes it out to be.

I wanted to title this comic “I have you now!”  but figured George Lucas probably changed that quote the last time he “fixed” Star Wars to something like “Well, fiddle-dee-dee!”

Now that Cecil has discovered the location of the Caching Curmudgeon’s secret lair what will he do next?  I’m thinking some “Shock & ook” but then again Cecil doesn’t always tell me his plans (says I have a big mouth).

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend- and, on a more serious note, a happy Poppy Day.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.

  1. Why is there not a *like* button??

    1. Thanks! There is a Facebook share button on the page of the post… I’ll have to figure out how to get that to the main page in all my free time. I am excited about next few weeks- lots of stuff bouncing around in my brain just have decide what I want to use when.

  2. Base Eight! Hooray for New Math!

“But in the new approach, as you know, the
important thing is to understand what you’re doing rather than to get the right
    answer.”
