Yes, this conversation did kind of happen. As for “You know your (mother/father)” yes, they did say that. After almost 50 years of marriage it is interesting to watch (or hear) how they interact. My mother rolls her eyes at things my father does, & my dad does things because he “knows” my mother will get “angry” if he doesn’t. She then rolls her eyes again and says she doesn’t know why he did that. Again, I do love my Mom & Dad, there are just some things that make me go “huh?”
Some times it’s interesting to see what my parents do with the technology they have… like I have said my dad loves technology so he ends up with stuff that is just amazing… so he can print out photos, and write nasty notes to the city council. ๐ One of these days I’ll have to relate in greater detail what happens when I try to help show them all they could do during a visit.
Now to be honest, Cecil did ask about the “dead” MacBook Pro. Funny, I’ve ended up with more than a few bits & bobs from my parent’s discarded computers which have helped me keep my own computers running for a few years past their expiration date (I’m still using Photoshop Elements 3 & OS 10.4).

You’ve also quoted my parents. In some cases, almost word for word. He constantly refers to me as “his computer guru” & any family visit degenerates when he says “While your here, I need you to look at something…..”
I’m sure my 19yr-daughter rolls her eyes & feels the same way when I ask her about “today’s” music, tattoos/piercings, etc. I tried to play some games on her Xbox & it was like watching my Dad on my old Atari 2600! ๐
