Hemi does not seem to be a stereotypical cat… As you might recall we fostered him and ended up keeping him.  Something happened in his past life so he really doesn’t like to be by himself.  As Sue likes to say you can tell how long we’ve been gone by how close Hemi is to the back door.  Most days his nose is pushing against the door as we try to get into the house.  Once we are home he follows a bit of ritual-  He attacks a wicker footrest and then climbs on the nearest person’s lap and will not move for a long while.  When we were gone over night (you get a cat because you can be gone a few nights without worry) he landed in my lap five minutes after getting back and stayed there for about 2 hours.  The rest of the day he did not leave my side.  Like I said not your stereotypical cat, but I wouldn’t have him any other way.

  1. Ya know, I’m not what you’d call a “cat person”… but I’m pretty sure I am a “Hemi person.” Let me know if Cecil figures out a way to clone him. 🙂
