Thanks again to Ben Majercak for his great job getting this colored.  I tell him “No rush, we’ll post it whenever” and he gets it done before Sunday… If only I could get him the comics before Sunday!

As with our first Sunday strip this are out of continuity so they just may be quick anecdotes or commentary.  This time it is a confession.  Years ago when Sue & I were first married we were making ornaments for our Christmas tree.  Sue was cross stitching and I was using Fimo clay.  I made some off handed remark about how all she was doing was following a pattern- that really it had to be easy.  So to back this up I tried to cross stitch.  Yes, it is just following a pattern… but there is a lot more to it than that.  I was taught a lesson-Sue did finish the ornament I started and when we put up our tree I’m reminded of my mistake.

Recently Sue took up knitting.  She taught herself a little had some help from friends and then took a class or two.  I commented (having learned my lesson) that it looked interesting and I wanted to at least learn the basics so when she talked about knitting I had some clue.  My mistake… again.  give me a pencil and enough time and I can create art, give me needles and enough yarn and I can… well you see the results in the comic.

My scarf did get finished (I have worn it as the weather has turned colder) but not by me… like that cross stitch ornament it was finished by Sue.  I can say that I did maybe two or three inches of the six feet of scarf.  You can tell where I stopped- the knitting actually looks good from that point on.

Knit one, purl… wait I’ve lost count!
