“Boy!  Your job must be easy… summers off and all that”  I hate when people say that.  I have gotten up on my soap box about this before, so I won’t start again.  Let’s just say it was amusing when Sue asked if she might be able to come up with a few things I could do around the house while on Summer break.  I didn’t remind her that I will finally have some time to get my classroom in order (even though I will be moving) and may be able to start the year prepared instead of always trying to catch up.  I just remembered that last summer at this time I was just days away from heading off to England and that since I traveled over 19,000 miles from the end of May to the beginning of August I really hadn’t spent much time at home.  So yes, while I will be working on things (this comic for instance) I will also try to actually be a contributing member of this household.  I figure that should last about two, maybe three weeks, before something more entertaining comes up.
