The final big event over GeoWoodstock weekend was held at Groundspeak HQ in Fremont… the “Lost & Found” event celebrating the 10th anniversary of Geocaching.  It was really a great event with lost of things going on.  One cool thing that Groundspeak did was sent everyone out into Fremont lot see some of the unique sites.  At each site someone was there handing out a unique puzzle piece.  All the pieces formed Signal (the Groundspeak mascot)- when you returned with a completed puzzle you were handed a trackable tag as a prize.  We had a great time and spent most of the day wandering around sometimes with fellow cachers, sometimes just by ourselves.  It was a great weekend and I can’t wait until the next GeoWoodstock or a return trip to Seattle to explore… I missed the “Dr. Who” cache in Portland…

As for the “Triad”  the Holy Grail (kind of) for geocachers is to 1. visit the original stash 2. visit the A.P.E. Cache and 3. visit the “Lilly Pad” or Groundspeak HQ on any other weekend the toughest would be Groundspeak HQ (you normally can’t just drop by)- this weekend, not so much.  Cecil has a way to turn a difficult cache into something a little less challenging- timing it appears IS everything.

Oh, they ran out of Triad Geocoins so Cecil & Sue have them on order…

Lost? or was that Found?
