So what is Motortober? It started in 2007 when MINIUSA’s advertising firm decided to create a “holiday” to help sell MINIs. Amid the hype each dealership was encouraged to do something special. Some had rallies, dress up you MINI contests, basically stuff to bring people into the showroom and hopefully buy a MINI. OUr local dealership decided to rent out a go-kart track and invite potential customers along with present MINI owners to celebrate how much fun it is to drive a MINI. I can only assume it was successful since this year marked the third Motortober at the New Castle Motorsports Park and while yesterday was a little chilly (it is Fall after all) and it was Fall Break for a number of schools so people had headed out for a long vacation. The event seemed to be well attended and most of all people had fun. Check out the pictures I have posted on Flickr. I’ll still be toying with Tink a little bit throughout the week as this arc will be a bit of a flashback on my first experience on a track which was rather amusing.
