Let me start off by saying – I hate… HATE… drawing people I know. It took me forever to figure out how I was going to draw Sue. Longer to figure out my family. If you can figure out who this is- great… my work here is done. If you can’t I’m sorry, I still have a lot to learn. I know that. If you think you have become a reoccurring character in this strip… It isn’t all about you. It’s all about Cecil. Except this flashback is “P.C.” Pre Cecil.
The original text did say “Hi, I’m ____” but I wasn’t sure I’d drawn this person as well as I could. Did this nameless person help me out and teach me a few things? Yup! Am I still friends with him… Yup! Did I get help from some other folks who took pity on me? Yup! As I said on Monday- everyone was busy doing final checks on their own MINIs. This unknown guy had flown in from SoCal to help an off camera friend named “Todd.” So here’s the deal- check out Whiteroof Radio and click on the link about track days. Make sure that you have made sure that the fluids are all at the correct level and create a kit for your boot (trunk) that has some basics- tire gauge, torque wrench, basic tools that might not be included in your basic “here’s what you need to change a tire” kit. Remember that your car needs to be cleared out of anything that rolls around before you get on the track.
As for the thought bubbles… I doubt DB actually thought any of that, but I sure did. I’ll keep repeating this was a learning experience and opportunity fro growth.

Was that from the Phil Wicks thing in St. Louis? Wasn’t that a million years ago?
Cool strip!
And I never once thought you were a N00b. Can’t say what Todd thought however 😉

Yup! 2006! In this arc we’re going back to my first track experience… Can’t say I’ve grown that much since then, except maybe around the middle.
