One of the difficult things about chronicling what is happening is being timely… If I try to keep up on a daily basis I might end up being a hermit and drawing every night instead of being the life of the party (those who know me, know that I tend to hide in corners at social events and speak only when spoken to, or if I feel the need to add commentary because someone said something that makes absolutely no sense dealing with comics or MINI Cooper)  So the trip we took over 4th of July is now going to be part of the comic- Day 1: the Original Stash.

Cecil visits the Original Stash

As the story goes in 2000 the big blue switch was thrown and GPS receivers overnight became more accurate. Dave Ulmer decided to try something and placed what he called a “stash” up in the hills and posted the longitude & latitude on this crazy newfangled thing called the Internet. Someone found it and what we now know as geocaching was born. The original stash is long since gone, but in honor of it a plaque was placed at the location.  One of the items in the original stash was… you guessed it- a can of beans.

Original Stash… mmm – beans.
