When Sue & I first bought our house we never thought we could ever fill it… funny.  We have a full unfinished basement (Yes, Mom we’ll get right on getting it finished) that we have used to store stuff… a lot of stuff.  Most of it mine.  See, as a teacher I have a problem throwing anything away that I might be able to use with my class, so it is filled with… junk.  Not only junk, most of my comics are there along with Sue’s needlework stuff and books.  That’s on the side that we aren’t using for storage.  The storage side is full of other stuff.  We affectionately refer to the basement as “The Pit of Despair” -sorry geek reference.

I would like to thank the Indy Webcomics Group for inspiring me to push my drawing today (even a little bit).  I have noticed that I am sometimes rushed and remove details that in my imagination I see (yes, I see things) but I tend not to draw them due to the looming deadline, or playing around with camera angles keeping to the safe shot. Last night after the meet up (we previewed the upcoming anthology- more on that later), I had my vision of what Cecil might have done with our basement (his lair) and the first thought that came to mind was the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.  I have mixed it up a bit and as I search for Cecil I’m hoping to bring in some more detail into the strip – or something.
