San Diego Comic-Con… I’m glad this wasn’t my first time, but it still is awe inspiring.  Last time I was there I wandered around, trying to figure out what was going on and not taking too many photos.  This time I had already been drawing a comic for a bit, and I had Cecil.  So while everyone was running around trying to find out about the latest movie or TV show, I hung out in the geeky places, learning about comics.  Cecil helped me to break the ice with some of the pros and the geeks.  I attended a number of sessions that dealt with comics in the classroom, but I also learned about drawing-  my favorite was watching Jeff Smith draw a 4 panel strip.  It was amazing.
