So yes, My Geek Odyssey is back!  I’ve updated my studio to the point where I am trying to figure out how all this new stuff works.  When you have been doing a comic on a laptop using Photoshop Elements ver. 3 there is a bit of a learning curve when you switch to a 27″ monitor, Photoshop Elements 8, and a Wacom tablet.  Poor pitiful me… Trust me, i am loving every minute of it.  My hope is to get back on track and get back to 3 strips a week.  For those who are still following the strip, thank you for your patience, I just hit a rough patch with being overwhelmed with life and real world responsibilities… enough of that.

This actually started in England when We used a Garmin Nuvi to find our way around.  After a while we just went with maps until we got lost because it seemed like the Nuvi liked to take the “scenic route” avoiding anything that could actually get us there quickly.

Fast forward to Spring Bring this year and Sue has a unique way of navigating… She picks the nearest cache to our destination and then has her Garmin Oregon calculate the route.  Funny part is it also seems to like the scenic route, taking us through some lovely small towns but it also seems to take us way out of the way to get places.  Maybe it knows something we don’t.

  1. 27″ monitor, NICE! My 60CSX once wanted me to turn onto a railroad track. That was the day I decided to get a Nuvi.
