I am a Facebook user & I am old.  As the story goes I had no use for Facebook until a group I was working with had asked my opinion on creating a Facebook connection.  Before I could comment I felt I should understand Facebook.  Since then I have tried to figure out how “friend” is defined in a digital age, along with encountering these people and the combinations of each.  I realize that this is just scratching the surface, but like there are subclasses in D&D I think these are the basic classes of users- not including the normal person, but then again are any of us “normal”?

Which one am I?  A little bit of each-  Do I know all of my “Friends”? no. Have I taken some surveys?  yes.  Do I play some Facebook games?  Yes – specifically Farmville- why?  I have no idea. Am I a member of too many groups or a fan to things I really don’t care about?  guilty as charged (Then again, I am a fan of Cecil… and so should you).  Are there times when I just want to walk away from technology and curl up with a good book?  yes in fact I just did before posting this.
