As you can see We did make it to England and the start of this wonderful adventure.  Robert Heinlein once observed that the key ingredient to humor was suffering-  as you can tell the trip was a bit of a trial.  I came at it thinking that “I have a right-hand drive Mini-  driving in England will be a piece of cake!”  The truth is driving in an unknown country without knowing all the traffic rules, after not getting any sleep with a car GPS that wants you to go the “scenic route”  (I should have figured this out when we were having car trouble over Christmas and it routed us along surface streets!)  Same thing here,  the easiest route was in the highway, and it was leading us over hill over dale.  I can’t wait to go back when I’m awake and get some pictures.

I will be posting pictures, but Internet is a little spotty.  it seems that the stone walls of the cottage do a great job of blocking the Internet signal.  This combined with never having used my cell phone overseas and being overly concerned about running up the data bill (No service found in our cottage which is actually a good thing.)  While updates are a priority, I’m not sure how timely they are going to be.

Tomorrow brings the first day of MINI United, Our tour of the MINI Factory (we did a drive by today), and the MINIUSA reception in the evening.  If I’m alive after all that I’ll try to put something together -at least photos and a blog

  1. Glad you made it. Looking forward to updates and pics.
I can only assume that you have had to keep Cecil under tight wraps crossing international borders.
