First of all this comic was conceived,  drawn, inked, and scanned all during the 2010 Extending Teacher Creativity Workshop Reception and Gallery Walk.

I’m sitting in Terre Haute at an annual workshop which is kind of like the best Summer Camp I could imagine.  There are bunches and bunches of creative people who all care about what happens in their schools (and we spend a lot of time going “huh?”).  We break up into groups to focus on things we really like (for me this year it is technology), and then share what we did after a day and a half of work.  Oh, and we eat… well.  I had volunteered to show everyone what was going on with comics in the classroom and specifically to show how this comic is created.  (So easy even a stuffed monkey could do it!).  So while everyone was gorging themselves (had I mentioned food is a large part of this workshop?) I went ahead and drew today’s comic.  It kind of encapsulates what happens when I go to workshops of any kind- I want to help, I want to teach, so today I helped and taught a bit about geocaching.  I know, I know, Sue should really do this (little Miss 3,000 finds), but… they have to put up with me (& Cecil).  Did I get any projects done on my list?  Nope.  Did I have a great time?  Yup!  What will I do today?  Probably the same thing… there are some new caches on campus.  I do need to learn a bit about social media in the classroom, and I need to work on my grade level web site and some stuff for the Special super secret Project.  Lots to do and hopefully enough hours to get some of it done… & hopefully eat.
