Most comic geeks never forget their first comic… (normal people its their first kiss, comic folks cling to the firsts they actually have).  For me it was Flash Gordon.  My dad  picked up a hardcover edition once when we moved to keep my brother & I  entertained while we drove to our new home.  I ended up with volume one through five (which ended with Flash heading back to Earth to stop the “Red Scourge”).  Sadly like most comic collectors the original copies I had have vanished.  Happily I was able to replace those and finish out the Alex Raymond run on Flash.  So blame Flash Gordon for getting me hooked on comics and now we have a comic loving monkey (must be in the genes) reading my entire collection.  At least he’s happy and as long as he keeps with those approved by the comic code Sue and I won’t have to explain that much.

You can start the Queen soundtrack now…
